We work from the house outward: tank, outlet, distribution box, then the field. That way you pay to repair the part that is broken and not the part that is easiest to dig up.
Signs you need septic repair
- Grass over the field is much greener or wetter than the rest of the yard
- Standing water or soft ground over the drain field
- Sewage backing up into floor drains or the lowest fixtures
- Gurgling pipes and slow drains throughout the house
- Odour in the yard that was not there before
- Raw sewage surfacing in the yard or running toward a ditch or well
- A septic alarm sounding along with slow drains
Emergency septic service, 24/7
A septic emergency usually means sewage is coming into the house, onto the ground or into a ditch, or a pump has stopped and the alarm is sounding.
Call (604) 200-0278 and tell us what you see. Until we arrive: stop using water, keep people and pets away from any sewage, and do not open the tank or pump chamber.
- Stop the problem getting worse: advise on shutting off water use and the pump breaker
- Find the blockage, full tank or failed component
- Pump out, clear or temporarily bypass where it is safe to do so
- Make safe and explain what permanent repair is needed
- Document what we found for you and for any insurance claim
What our septic system repair covers
- Trace the system from the building sewer to the field and find where it stops flowing
- Check tank outlet, baffles and effluent filter
- Open and level the distribution box, and clear or replace damaged lines
- Repair or replace damaged pipe, fittings and lids
- Tell you plainly if the field itself has failed and what the options are
Warranty. Pumps, level sensors and other parts we supply carry a 3-year limited parts warranty from the day they are installed, matching the manufacturer warranty. If a covered part fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship, it is repaired or replaced at no charge. The warranty covers parts only: labour to diagnose, remove and install is billed at our normal rates. It does not cover damage from flooding, lightning or power surges, freezing, roots, vehicles driven over the system, sand or gravel, grease, wipes or other things that should not go down a drain, or work on the system by anyone else. Full terms are on our warranty page.
Safety first. Keep people and pets off any area where sewage is surfacing, and do not water a wet field to 'flush' it. Reduce water use until the cause is found.

Septic repair questions
Is a soggy field always a failed drain field?
No. A broken pipe, a tilted D-box or a tank that needs pumping can overload one section of the field. Finding the cause first often saves the cost of a field replacement.
Can a drain field be repaired?
Sometimes. If lines are damaged or one trench is overloaded, repair can work. If the soil has lost its ability to absorb across the whole field, replacement in a suitable area is usually the lasting fix.
Will insurance cover it?
Many home policies exclude wear and age related septic failures. Check your policy and keep our written findings for any claim.
What should I do first?
Stop using water: no toilets, laundry, dishwasher or showers. Switch off the pump breaker only if you can do it safely. Keep everyone away from surfaced sewage and call us.
Can you come the same day?
Call and tell us what is happening. We will give you an honest answer about timing.
Will it be expensive?
We tell you what we found and what it will cost before we do repair work. Emergency pump-outs are often the first step and buy time for a proper fix.
